Severstal reports Q1 2023 operational results

Severstal announces that in Q1 2023 crude steel production was almost flat qoq and stood at 2.7 mln tonnes (-1% qoq). Consolidated steel sales followed production dynamics and decreased slightly, by 1% qoq to 2.77 mln tonnes. Stainless steel consumption in Russia increased by 27%

The association 'Spetsstal' has reported that the visible consumption of the main types of stainless steel products in Russia increased by 27.3% to 661.9 thousand tonnes in 2023, compared to 2022. China's steel exports exceed 90 million tonnes

In December 2023, national steel companies in China exported 7.73 million tonnes of finished steel products, which is 3.5% less than in November but 43.1% higher than in December 2022.
